Best Films of the Decade - 2010s -First part

As always, a giant list. The first 10 can be pretty much interchangeable depending on my mood but the ones below are pretty fixed. Open for debate, of course 31.  Udaan (2010) -   Directed by  Vikramaditya Motwane . Written by V ikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap.  A debut out of immense quality and a film that sticks with you long after you've seen it. The subject matter of father-son relationships could easily go into the overdone or heavily dramatic in a bad way. While remaining a serious and dramatic film, the control over the storyline without allowing any slippage into melodrama is magnificent. The story is not a new one, with the tale of an over-controlling father and a sensitive child, but the performances and the script make it possible to have a fresh feel. 32.  Nostalgia For the Light (2010) - Directed and written by  Patricio Guzman . A very poetic film telling a story about the past, both the recent past and the past so his...

best comedians of the decade

criteria : must do stand-up comedy. only judged from stand up and sketch . 10.Demetri Martin why: He likes constructing palindromes. That's reason enough. Uses all sorts of visual aids and sketches. Great with the one liners too. Most unconventional comedian since Gallagher.Maybe. 9. Russell Brand why: Obnoxious, loud and very strange. Known as much for his off stage antics than his comedy. But one of the best young 'angry' comedians out there. Although there's a sneaking suspicion the accent makes him cool (er). 8. Robin Williams why: Back in2002 with LIVE on Broadway, the show broke several records for a comedy show. Showed he's still funny, hasn't let success go to his head and can still make it all up on the spot. 7. Ricky Gervais why: In the Office for the first part of the century, everywhere else for the last. Most people know him for his film roles, but he's great on the stage too. Doesn't shy away from the controversial topics. And it isn't ...

a list of documentaries.made in the 21st century.that you should see.

People don't watch a lot of documentaries.Maybe that's because everyone associates then with boring, drawn out chronicles of something they have no interest in. and unfortunately a lot are exactly like that.but some are good, really good. here's a list (in no order), with a quick line summary of why you should watch it: 22. Capturing the Friedmans (2003) - Andrew Jarecki why: a film about how mysterious every person is, while documenting the very disturbing topic of child abuse.throughout the film everyone seems both clearly guilty and then completely innocent. makes you realize facts are subjective. 21 . Spellbound (2002) - Jeffrey Blitz why: a film about setting goals and achieving dreams, even when that dream is to be a national spelling bee champion. more than that, it's about the 8 competitors who manage to be appealing and completely enthralling. 20. To Be and To Have ( etre at avoir )- (2003) -Nicolas Philibert why: this one has the slow parts, teaching in a...
